November 2023

Isn’t it hard to believe that the holiday season is just around the corner? It’s time for dark beers, sippin’ on whiskey or a glass of wine, and a nice fire.

Monthly Meeting

Our meeting topic this month will be recipe formulation. Whether you are new to developing recipes or have been creating them for a long time, you’ll be sure to learn something new. We’ll look at two recipes that were recently developed for an Imperial Stout and English Porter. We’ll discuss and explore the considerations that went into the final recipes, which will include looking at a number of recipes from various sources (Brewing Classic Styles, Ten Fidy recipe, BJCP parameters , Meanbrews Youtube channel, and other sources). A number of  brewing sources in various formats (podcasts, websites, books, and magazines) will be shared.

LFC Officer Nominations

Next year both Bobby and Terry will be serving together as co-Presidents. This will be Bobby’s second year in the role as he is currently co-President with Josh. Major thanks to Josh for all his efforts over the years in establishing LFC alongside Sam and making sure we are thriving as he steps down!! Terry has been rocking it as VP this year and is stepping up into the co-Pres role officially next year! For new officer nominations, the nomination window is open through 12/4. Click here to nominate yourself. Open positions include:

Each member of the leadership team is requested to attend the bulk of LFC events and be an active AHA member. We’re very flexible and help each other out and are often sharing each other’s responsibilities - it’s a team approach.

If multiple people sign up for a position, club voting will take place between 12/4 through 12/14. An email with voting instructions will be sent to the club and posted on social media if this is needed.
